Though it doesn’t get as cold as other parts of the United States here in Houston, TX, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a nice mug of hot chocolate in celebration of the colder months! Finding the right recipe can be a little difficult though. Even if you’re a fan of regular hot chocolate, you can always try to spice up your drink, which is why we’re sharing a few of our choice recipes in this week’s Driscoll Place Blog. 

Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1/4 cup half and half

  • 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips

  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter

  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows


If you’re a lover of peanut butter, combine your love of it with a cup of hot chocolate for this delicious treat! It’s a pretty simple recipe, so check it out.

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

  • 2 cups of milk

  • 2 cups of heavy cream

  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips

  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract

  • Whipped cream

  • Crushed candy cane


What better way to get yourself into the holiday mood than by sipping on some peppermint hot chocolate?  Healthy dose of chocolate with the freshness of the peppermint is sure to warm your soul!

White Fudge Oreo Hot Chocolate

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

  • 2 tbsp water

  • 1 1/2 cup milk

  • 2 white fudge oreos, crushed


Oreos are a good addition to anything, so why not hot chocolate? Try out this recipe with kids to add that extra kick to their hot chocolate or for yourself when you’re looking to treat yourself!
